University Housing is excited to announce the debut of the Cultures and Communities LLC – to launch in Fall of 2018 in Sandburg Hall!

Purpose:

The Cultures & Communities is for students interested in learning about social justice issues, cultures, and current events. It is a place for students of all identities to feel welcome and supported, and diversity is valued.

 

Great Choice for You If…

  • You are interested in social justice, cultures, current events, and/or changing the world
  • You are a first generation student or MKE Scholar
  • You want to develop a close group of friends studying similar things as you

 

Picture Yourself:

  • Taking a course in Political Science, Women & Gender Studies, or Art with people in your community
  • Getting to know the staff in the LGBT Resource Center, Inclusive Excellence Center, MKE Scholars, and Cultures & Communities academic program
  • Attending sociocultural programming around the UWM campus and Milwaukee area, such as Speakers Series, Spoken Word, Bus Tours, and trips to cultural events.
  • Having deep discussions related to current events with people on your floor
