Nu Lambda Mu Honor Society in Nonprofit Management and Leadership

The Nu Lambda Mu Honor Society in Nonprofit Management and Leadership was established by the Nonprofit Academic Centers Council in 2012. Membership is open to current students or alumni of an HBI graduate program. Students must have completed at least half of their required degree coursework or all certificate credits, and must have a minimum 3.7 GPA.

Nonprofit Leadership Student Association (NLSA)

The Nonprofit Leadership Student Association (NLSA) is an association for students studying nonprofit management at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. NLSA provides both social and professional networking opportunities for graduate level students, promotes rapport between faculty and students within the program, fosters alumni/student relations, and represents student interests at UWM and in the community at large.

Nonprofit Management and Leadership Scholarship Fund

The Helen Bader Institute welcomes inquiries at any time regarding the availability of scholarships through its Nonprofit Management and Leadership Scholarship Fund.

To be eligible, student:

  1. Must be enrolled (or have applied for admission) as a student in the Graduate Certificate in Nonprofit Management or the Master of Science in Nonprofit Management and Leadership degree program at UWM
  2. Demonstrate evidence of financial need; and/or
  3. Demonstrate exceptional merit or other evidence of outstanding potential for success as a nonprofit manager or leader. Scholarship awards vary in amount.

For the 2017-18 academic year awards, a completed application must be submitted by August 15, 2017 for Fall 2017 and December 15, 2017 for Spring 2018. For more information, contact the Helen Bader Institute at
