    Student Success

The UWM Graduate Student Excellence Fund was established in 2015 as a philanthropic effort to provide advance degree students the support they need to pursue their research endeavors, complete their studies, and share discoveries with others in their fields. Enthusiastic supporters of the Excellence Fund represent myriad interests: business, industry, law, medicine, public service. They hold in common the conviction that UWM’s Graduate School is a vital community and state resource and strength.

    Research Excellence

UWM is one of only 115 universities to have been awarded the prestigious designation as an “R-1” top-tier doctoral research institution by the Carnegie Classification of Institutions of Higher Education. As the hub of graduate education, UWM’s Graduate School fosters excellence across a wide range of professional, liberal arts and science programs. Each year students present original research and creative works at national and international conference. These valuable experiences enhance their ability to solve complex problems with innovative and entrepreneurial perspectives.

    Community Engagement

The Graduate School hosts several Lunch & Learns throughout the year. These informational sessions take place at a variety of UWM venues: Innovation Campus, School of Freshwater Science, and Kenwood Interdisciplinary Research Center. Alumni, professionals from a variety of fields, and community leaders are invited to join us to learn more about our exceptional programs, meet the dean, and hear from our talented graduate students. To find out more about upcoming lunches please contact Nicole Sippy at (414) 229-3108.

Scholarships do not just pay for education; they are investments in human beings and their potential. My graduate scholarship is proof that someone believes in my success, and having that proof creates a positive environment for learning.
