We would like to announce the winners of the Student GIS Project Competition held on GIS Day at UW-Milwaukee, November 15, 2017

The Best Graduate Student/GIS Certificate Student Project

  • 1st Place tie ($300): Sue Borchardt. “Variation of Groundwater Divides during Wet Years vs. Dry years in the Wolf River Basin, Northeastern Wisconsin.”
  • 1st Place tie ($300): Yingbin Deng. “An improved spectral angle mapper to quickly map the fallen trees in San Juan area, Puerto Rico after the hurricane Maria.”
  • 3rd Place ($100): James Amato. “Forest Fire Risk Assessment of the Angeles and San Bernardino National Forests, California.”
