Next Generation 16S rDNA gene Sequencing and Data Analysis Workshop
June 18 - June 22
The Great Lakes Genomics Center and UWM School of Freshwater Sciences are pleased to invite you to a hands-on microbial community library preparation and data analysis workshop. During this workshop, you will generate 16S rDNA gene libraries for Illumina MiSeq sequencing using your own research samples and analyze your data using the latest tools. Sequence analysis workflows and bioinformatics approaches to community-generated data will also be covered.
This workshop includes:
- 16S rDNA gene library generation and sequencing
- MiSeq Data QC
- Introduction basis of analysis pipelines and common tools, including Mothur, QIIME (including Dada2), MED, and Anvio
Registration: Email Angie Schmoldt at firstname.lastname@example.org
Workshop prerequisites: Working knowledge of microbial community analysis, experience in molecular techniques (i.e. PCR or Sanger sequencing).
For more information, please contact Sandra McLellan, Professor, School of Freshwater Sciences at email@example.com or (414) 382-1710.
