Total Credits

18-19 credits

Required Core Courses (12-13 credits)
  • Bus Adm 201 - Introduction to Accounting, 4 credits
    or
    Bus Adm 2310 - Introduction to Information Technology Management, 3 credits
  • Bus Adm 360 - Principles of Marketing, 3 credits
  • Film Std 212 - Intermediate Topics in Film Studies: e.g. “Business on Film”, “Business on Television”, 3 credits
    (also counts as a Humanities GER)
  • English/Film Std 290 - Introduction to Film Studies, 3 credits
    (also counts as a Humanities GER)
    or
    English/Film Std 291 - Introduction to TV Studies, 3 credits
Bus Adm Elective (3 credits)

Students choose ONE of the following courses:

  • Bus Adm 330 - Organizations, 3 credits
  • Bus Adm 397 - Marketing Internship, 3 credits
  • Bus Adm 461 - Consumer Behavior, 3 credits
  • Bus Adm 465 - International Marketing, 3 credits
  • Bus Adm 467 - Marketing Seminar: Subtitle, 3 credits


Film Std Elective (3 credits)

Students choose ONE of the following courses:

  • English/Film Std 312 - Advanced Topics in Film Studies: Cinema and Digital Culture, 3 credits
  • English/Film Std 380 - Media and Culture: Subtitle, 3 credits
  • English/Film Std 391 - Television Theory and Criticism, 3 credits
  • English/Film Std 393 - Entertainment Industries: Subtitle, 3 credits
  • English/Film Std 394 - Seminar in Mass Culture: Subtitl , 3 credits


GPA Requirements

The certificate requires the completion of 18 to 19 credits, with a minimum grade point average of 2.50. At least 15 of the credits must be completed at UWM, and at least 9 of the credits taken at UWM must be at the 300-level or higher.
