Encourage Your First-Year Student To Use Pattern
All First-Year Students have access to a tool called Pattern.
Pattern is sort of like a Fitbit for studying—students can use it to track their study habits. Students can use Pattern in all of their classes to track what they are studying, when they are studying, how much time they spend studying, and how productive they are with studying.
Students who used Pattern indicate that using it encouraged them to study more, and accordingly, their course performance improved! Here’s what one UWM student said about using Pattern: “It made me realize how much time I was spending on reading the chapters and taking the exams. Taking better notes and testing myself helped for a better quiz grade.”
