The Blue Lantern

The Blue Lantern is the product of a semester long collaboration between director and visiting Fulbright scholar Tanya Weinstein and her ten student actors. With tone and structure borrowed from Russian author Victor Pelevin’s short story, “The Blue Lantern,” performance recounts an evening at an overnight camp during which a group of young teenagers tell each other scary stories.
Tanya Weinstein (born in Saint-Petersburg, Russia) is a stage director, actress, and tutor. Graduated from the Saint-Petersburg State Theatre Arts Academy in 2008 as a theatre director. She actively work at staging plays in Russia and abroad. She is a co-founder and creative director of Skorokhod Venue as well as the International Theatrical Centre “Legkie ludi“. She is a member of the Drama Instructors Guild and Stage Directors Guild.
Tanya works with documentary theatre, verbatim theatre, contemporary dance, performance art. As the instructor in acting, psychophysical training and stage movement leading theater workshops in Russia and in Europe.
Performances run Wednesday-Sunday, 7:30pm.
Blue Lantern has adult language and content.
