2016-17 English Department Travel Guidelines for Undergraduate Students
UWM English majors who are members in good standing of Sigma Tau Delta are eligible to apply for up to $250 in funding for travel to academic or professional meetings. Applicants who present or actively participate have a better chance of being awarded funding.
- Prior to travel
- The awards process must be completed before travel commences. Submit a request for funding along with documentation justifying travel (acceptance letter, presentation abstract, and/or official description of the meeting), as well as a letter of support from an English department faculty member (professor, lecturer, GTA), to the Chair of the English Department (Prof. Mark Netzloff, email@example.com). Once approved, you will work with Brooke Barker (firstname.lastname@example.org, Curtin Hall 439) or Kathy Kilkenny (email@example.com, Curtin Hall 418) to create an online Travel Authorization Request, or complete the paper Travel Authorization Form.
- After travel
- To be reimbursed, submit your itemized travel receipts and a rationale, within 90 days of travel, to Brooke Barker or Kathy Doering-Kilkenny. University employees are reimbursed via direct deposit; non-UWM employees are reimbursed by check.
