Passing of the Torch

Kimberly Blaeser is Wisconsin Poet Laureate for 2015-2016. She is author of three collections of poetry: Apprenticed to Justice, Absentee Indians and Other Poems, and Trailing You.  At UWM, she teaches Creative Writing and Native American Literatures. Her writing has been widely anthologized, most recently in The Heath Anthology of American Literature.

As Max Garland’s 2013-2014 term comes to a close and Blaesar’s term begins as Wisconsin Poet Laureate for 2015-2016, Woodland Pattern Book Center celebrates the passing of the torch with a reading. Congratulations to Kimberly Blaeser!

This free reading event is on Sunday, February 22, at 2 p.m. at Woodland Pattern Book Center (720 E. Locust St., Milwaukee). It will include an Installation, Reading, and Reception featuring the new Wisconsin Poet Laureate Kimberly Blaeser and recognizing the outgoing Wisconsin Poet Laureate Max Garland.
