2014 IEEE Symposium on Power Electronics & Machines for Wind and Water Applications
The 2014 IEEE Symposium on Power Electronics & Machines for Wind and Water Applications (PEMWA 2014) will be held in Milwaukee between between July 24-26. The event is being hosted by the UW-Milwaukee and co-sponsored by three IEEE societies including Power Electronics Society (PELS), Industrial Application Society (IAS), and the Power and Energy Society (PES). Two of our engineering faculty members, Dr. David Yu and Dr. Adel Nasiri are serving as the Honorary Chair and General Chair respectively. The event will be held at UW-Milwaukee’s School for Continuing Education in downtown Milwaukee.
Topics that will be discussed include but are not limited to wind power grid connection issues under high penetration, FACTS applications for wind power, islanding and protection capabilities and off shore wind power. International Conference on Renewable Energy Research and Applications
Later this year a second conference on energy will be held in Milwaukee. Between October 19-22 the 2014 International Conference on Renewable Energy Research and Applications (ICRERA) will be held at the Hilton in downtown Milwaukee. The committee organizing the conference has received over 200 papers for the event so far and anticipates more than 500 experts and individuals interested in the field to attend.
Topics that will be discussed include but are not limited to renewable energy systems, hybrid RESSs, smart grids and RESSs, new approaches in lightings, public awareness and education for renewable energy and systems and renewable energy systems in smart cities. For more information on how you can get involved in this conference visit the ICERA website here.
