Panther Prowl Raises $30K for Scholarships

More than 1,600 runners and walkers registered for the 12th Annual Panther Prowl held on Oct. 8.  Sponsored by the UWM Alumni Association, the event raised about $30,000 for UWM scholarships.

The College’s Milwaukee Engineer team finished with these notable numerals:

  • 123 runners/walkers
  • $914 raised
  • 10 engineering students who were sponsored by faculty or staff
  • 1st largest team (second year in a row)
  • 2nd fastest team (second year in a row)

Following the Prowl, about 100 people attended an open house at the college, including alumni, students and families. Guests watched Ben Church’s students make liquid nitrogen ice cream, helped Chris Beimborn make solar-powered lamps to send to Guatemala, tried out a marble-powered toy computer called Digi-Comp II, and met members of the Engineering Alumni Board Chapter.
