What is Toastmasters? Is Toastmasters for you?

Toastmasters is a supportive environment where you can build your confidence in becoming an effective and engaging public speaker. It’s also an opportunity to develop your leadership skills. Faculty, alumni, business partners, students and staff are welcome and provide a supportive community.

What do our members say about Milwaukee Engineer Toastmasters?

“The greatest benefit of Toastmasters is the opportunity to practice your verbal communication skills. Each speech or role you do helps you become a better leader and communicator. Communication is the most important aspect to becoming a successful construction project manager. Whether it’s communicating with fellow engineers, contractors, or the general public, your ability to effectively explain your ideas helps you distinguish yourself from other engineers. Toastmasters is a safe and informal place to practice these skills.

–Ryan Schindhelm; B.S. Civil Engineering, 2007

“Toastmasters provides a great opportunity to practice and polish your speaking and presentation skills in a positive and encouraging environment.”

–Jim Mantes, B.S. Civil Engineering, 2013

“Toastmasters has given me the confidence to be a better leader and the skills to be a more effective communicator.”

–Jonathan Baseheart, B.S. Computer Science, 2002
