Transfer Students

Apply for Admission – Transfer Students

Transfer student admission to the College of Engineering & Applied Science is based on an overall assessment of both academic and nonacademic qualifications. For transfer applicants the primary factors considered for admission are the grade point average on transferable courses and the level of curriculum completion. Nonacademic qualifications will also be considered, such as leadership skills, diversity in personal background, work experience, motivation, and maturity.

In addition to meeting the University admissions criteria, the College of Engineering & Applied Science has additional requirements.

Admission directly to major

Transfer applicants must have completed the equivalent of:

  • Math 232 (Calc 2) with the grade of a C or better

  • Completed a minimum of 24 transferable credits with a 3.00 cumulative GPA.

Admission to pre-engineering/computer science

Transfer applicants must have completed the equivalent of:

  • Math 231 (Calc 1) with a grade of a C or better

Transfer Credits

All potential students want to know how their previous coursework will transfer. To assist students who are transferring from any UW System or WCTS school use the Transfer Information System site to determine course transferability.

Students not transferring from a UW System school may use UWM’s Transfer Equivalency Database (TED). Please keep in mind that all transfer coursework is subject to review and equivalency determination upon official submission to UWM.
