UWM Joins the Ranks of Top Tier Research Institutions in the U.S.
Colleagues and Friends,
I hope this email finds you celebrating a wonderful summer. If you read Wisconsin news, you probably know that we brought home the gold earning the highest rating for a research institution from the Carnegie Classification of Institutions of Higher Education. Only 2 percent of the nation’s universities enjoy this status.
In this issue of Milwaukee Engineer, we share stories that showcase our college’s reach and impact. A graduate who went on to earn a Nobel Prize. The invention of a low-cost tool poised to alert people to viral and heavy metal contaminants in drinking water. An example of how UW-Milwaukee engineers are reaching out to residents in developing nations. And more.
And as always, we hope you stay in touch with us. For women engineering alumni, join us on Aug. 23 for a social and networking event.
The summer is also a great time to sign up for UWM’s Panther Prowl 5K walk/run October 8. Please join the rapidly growing Milwaukee Engineer team at this annual event and help us raise scholarship funds to support the next generation of Milwaukee Engineers.
I hope to see you at the Prowl.
