In June of 2013, CDS and the Martin Luther King Economic Development Corporation hosted the King Drive Visioning Charette. This innovative approach included key players who can make development a reality: local lenders, local developers, MLK Business Improvement District members, city staff and officials, property owners, and many others. Eight opportunity sites were selected based on their potential to add value to the area, building on the $40 million recently invested in the neighborhood. Six teams of architects and urban planners were invited to UWM – School of Architecture and Urban Planning for a day of designing and discussing feasible development concepts for each site. Since the charette, three of the sites are moving forward with property owners and developers negotiating strategies for investment. Participating architecture firms include:

Korb Tredo (Now Korb + Associates Architects)

Miller Architectural Group

Continuum Architects

Quorum Architects
