There are advantages to being part of a larger community of Latin Americanists through association with CLACS. Center members are eligible to compete for Center-funded travel grants in support of their research, project or conference presentation in the area of Latin American and Caribbean studies. They may also request Center resources that would give partial support for Latin Americanist events organized at UWM, and are added to an email list for receiving information on Center programs, events and activities. The Center can offer support in other ways by connecting faculty from different disciplines and institutions with similar interests, providing educational and professional workshops, and offering classroom support through our free loan media collection. Professional service may be listed for those serving on the advisory committee or one of numerous student/faculty research-travel application review committees.
