Building Resilient Communities: Lessons Learned from a Global Health Crisis in Haiti

April 5 @ 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm

FREE showing of the short film Design that Heals followed by a panel discussion with Thatcher Bean (MASS Design Group) and Scott Morgan (GHESKIO) | UWM Curtin 175 | Refreshments starting at 5:30pm | Screening at 06:00pm|

In 2010 an earthquake devastated Haiti, leading to one of the world’s worst cholera outbreaks in over a century.  GHESKIO clinical treatment centers and the MASS Design Group, a firm that promotes justice and human dignity through architecture, joined together to design a project to address the underlying structural and social conditions that allow cholera to thrive. Join us to learn about this inspiring project and discuss comprehensive and trans-disciplinary approaches to achieving improved health in Haiti and around the globe.
