Harry Whelan (‘81, BS Chemistry) was recently awarded the Legion of Merit by the U.S. Armed Forces. Whelan splits
his time serving in the U.S. Naval Reserve as a medical offi cer with the Marine Air Control Group 48 at Naval Station Great Lakes in
Waukegan, Ill., and working at Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin as the Bleser Family Professor of neurology. He is also a professor of
neurology and pediatrics and director of hyperbaric medicine at the Medical Collge of Wisconsin.
