Chancellor’s Update: Presidential Candidate on Campus Sept. 10

Email Update - Header

Sept. 8, 2015

Dear Faculty, Staff, and Students,

I hope you, friends, and family had a restful and enjoyable holiday weekend. As we enter the second week of the fall semester I want to inform you of the first of what we hope will be several visits to our campus by 2016 U.S. presidential candidates.

Hillary Clinton will speak this Thursday, Sept. 10 at 5:30 p.m. on UWM’s Spaights Plaza. The grassroots organizing visit is being arranged by the Milwaukee, WI Women for Hillary. Access will begin at 4:00 p.m. and the event is expected to conclude at 6:45 p.m.

Please note that there will be some restricted areas, temporary parking changes, and security measures that will impact day-to-day activities. We will follow up with details. Here is additional information for those wishing to attend.

As a public institution, UWM does not endorse or promote any political candidates. We do encourage all students, faculty and staff to educate themselves about all candidates and to participate in our nation’s political process.

Best regards,

Mark A. Mone
Chancellor
