It’s always a delight to hear our dedicated colleagues getting the recognition they rightly deserve. Dr. Jung Kwak is a center scientist of the Center for Aging and Translational Research. Dr. Kwak just started a research project evaluating an individualized music listening program called Music and Memory. Along with her team, Dr. Kwak is testing if delivering iPods with personalized playlists to nursing home residents with dementia is as effective as pharmacological treatments for agitation, mood and cognition. This project sparked the interest of Stephanie Lecci at FM 89.7 WUWM, Milwaukee Public Radio, who sat down to chat with Dr. Kwak in June to talk about music, past research, and her current project.
