The goal of the Helen Bader Age & Community Scholarship program is to provide financial support for students pursuing a certificate focused on gerontology. Since 2004, over $500,000 in Helen Bader Age & Community Scholarships have been awarded to students in a wide range of disciplines.
- Demonstrate a 3.0 or higher GPA for two consecutive academic years at the undergraduate level or one year at the graduate level
- Demonstrate a commitment to the field of gerontology
- Be admitted to the Graduate Certificate Program in Applied Gerontology at UW-Milwaukee
The scholarship deadline for the 2014/15 academic year has passed. Please check back in January 2015 for more information about the application process and deadlines for the 2015/16 academic year.
Scholarships are awarded each spring to part-time and full-time students who will are admitted to the Graduate Certificate in Applied Gerontology program the following fall. Past recipients have represented a wide range of disciplines, including Nursing, Health Sciences, Social Work, Architecture, and Non-Profit Management.
