MBA Flexible Format

Your career goals are just that ….. your career goals.  With the Lubar School’s MBA Flexible Format, you can not only focus your studies to fit your professional goals, but you can do it at your own pace and in your desired format — hybrid online or totally in person.

Where is your career going — and where do you want it to go?  In the flexible program, you can select Career Focused Concentration in Business Analytics, Entrepreneurship, Finance, Health Care Management, Marketing, or Supply Chain & Operations Management.  Or if you’d like to have more control over your focus, you can design your own elective path!

You may begin the MBA-Flexible Format in the Fall, Spring, Winterim, or Summer semester.

Who should consider the MBA Flexible Format Program?
  • Professionals who want to concentrate their MBA program to meet their career goals.
  • Those whose work and personal calendars require the flexibility to schedule as few or as many courses as they wish throughout all semesters, and would like the option to take some of their courses online.
  • Those who thrive in an intensive, in-depth learning environment
  • Individuals who want to leverage learning with a wide network of professional peers

Flexible MBA Curriculum (39 credits)

Build Your Core Strength

MBA Foundation Courses (0-5 credits)

Bus Adm 701: Business Mathematics (2 cr.)
Bus Adm 703: Financial Accounting (3 cr.)

MBA foundation coursework consists of two courses. Courses can be waived with prior coursework with a grade of C- or better. If the courses are not waived with prior coursework, you may discuss opportunities to satisfy the course requirements with an advisor. 
Students are assumed to have basic proficiency in word processing, spreadsheet, and database software for computers; credits taken to acquire these skills do not apply toward the degree.

Bus Mgmt 704: Accounting Analysis and Control (3 cr.)
Bus Mgmt 705: Corporate Finance (3 cr.)
Bus Mgmt 706: Managing in a Dynamic Environment (3 cr.)
Bus Mgmt 707: Information Technology Management in International Business (3 cr.)
Bus Mgmt 708: Marketing Strategy: Concepts and Practice (3 cr.)
Bus Mgmt 709: Predictive Analytics for Managers (3 cr.)

Students with a business degree and a major in accounting, finance, management, marketing, information technology management, or supply chain and operations management may waive the 3-credit core course that corresponds to their major. A maximum of 6 credits can be waived.

MBA Electives (15 credits)
Elective options help you enhance your professional areas of interest.   You may either choose one of our pre-designed concentrations in Business Analytics, Entrepreneurship, Finance, Health care Management, Marketing, or Supply Chain Management.  Alternatively, you can design your own elective track.

Concentrations

Flexibility means being able to adapt your MBA program to help you achieve your academic and professional goals.  MBA Flexible Format students may choose one of our pre-designed Career-Focused Concentrations.  Each concentration requires the completion of fifteen elective credits, and will be noted on your transcript.   If you do not select a concentration, you may design your own set of electives based on your interests.
