The UWM Department of Music and the Milwaukee Jazz Orchestra host the Woody Herman Educational Jazz Festival. Middle School and High School students will participate in clinics, master classes and full ensemble sessions and there will be special activities for ensemble directors. Friday events will also include the adjudication of the Greater Milwaukee Foundation Woody Herman-Sister Fabian Fund Scholarships for high school seniors and a new $500 scholarship open to all high school students sponsored by the Milwaukee Jazz Orchestra.

Featuring our guest artist, jazz vocalist, Steve March-Tormé, the Milwaukee Jazz Orchestra, UWM Jazz Ensembles, and the winners of the Greater Milwaukee Foundation Woody Herman-Sister Fabian Fund Scholarship and Milwaukee Jazz Orchestra Scholarship.
Schools with students in the UWM Youth Jazz Ensemble receive $50 off entrance to the festival. Workshop space is limited – deadline February 1, 2018.
