Sheboygan Area Youth Symphony announces new director

Jeremiah Eis has been selected to serve as the new director of the Sheboygan Area Youth Symphony Concert Orchestra.

“I am very much looking forward to working with this talented group of students. SAYS is a terrific program, and I am honored to be a part of it,” Eis said in a press release.

Eis also holds positions as conductor of the N.E.W. Wind Symphony, music director of the Manitowoc Marine Band, band director at Xavier Middle School (Appleton), and adjunct instructor at St. Norbert College (De Pere). He was formerly assistant professor of music at Silver Lake College, where he formed the Silver Lake Wind Ensemble, the largest instrumental music program in the history of the college. Additionally, he established a high school band festival, served as chair of the music department, chair of the faculty and received the 2013 Freddy Award for fostering community on campus.
