UWM double reed day

17th Annual Double Reed Day

UWM Wind Ensemble & High School Honor Band

November 18 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm

The UWM Wind Ensemble shares a joint concert with a select ensemble of students participants in the annual Milwaukee Music Festival High School Honor Band.

UWM Middle School Honor Bands Festival

November 19 @ 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm

The UWAY festival culminates in the performances of three middle school honor bands.


2018 Annual Vocal Arts Festival

February 2, 2018 - February 3, 2018

The UWM Vocal program presents the 2017 annual Vocal Arts Festival, hosting 90 exceptional high school vocalists to join UWM voice and choral faculty for two days of voice masterclasses, lessons, honor choir rehearsals and performances, and recitals focused on developing their skills as solo and choral singers and performers.


UWM Vocal Showcase Recital

A recital featuring UWM faculty and students performing solo vocal works and short scenes from both classical and musical theater genres


Vocal Arts Festival and Milwaukee Music Festival Final Concert

February 3, 2018 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm

The concluding performance of the Vocal Arts Festival and Milwaukee Music Festival features performances by the Vocal Arts Festival High School Honor Choir, the Milwaukee Music Festival High School Orchestra, and the UWM Concert Chorale.

UWM Horn Festival

The student organization, Horn Club, will be hosting masterclasses and workshops with Associate Professor of Horn, Greg Flint. There will also be the opportunity to play in a large horn choir and perform a concert at the end of the event.

Contemporary pianist Ann Yi premieres new works for piano and electronics, created for her by University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, Composition & Technology faculty and advanced graduate student composers.


UWM Friends of the MSO: Yaniv Dinur

April 25, 2018 @ 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm

MSO Associate Conductor Yaniv Dinur will discuss the MSO concerts to be presented April 27 and 28, featuring Dvořák’s “New World” Symphony, and cellist Truls Mørk performing Prokofiev’s Sinfonia Concertante.
