Brothers Season 1 & Season 2 Preview
November 4 @ 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm
32nd Annual MILWAUKEE LGBT FILM/VIDEO FESTIVAL presents…
BROTHERS: Season 1 + Season 2 preview!
With series creator Emmett J. Lundberg & series producer Sheyam Ghieth in attendance!
Hosted by series star and local luminary Syd Michael Robinson!
Brothers is a narrative short-form digital series that follows a group of transgender male friends, exploring what it means to go up against traditional societal gender roles
Brothers was the first narrative series about a group of trans male friends to not only feature the stories of transgender men, but also to cast trans actors in the main roles. The show touches on a few of the many issues that face transgender individuals – healthcare, dating, dysphoria, homophobia, identity and more.
For example, Season 1 follows the series’ main character Jack who recently started sleeping with a cisgender man after exclusively dating women. His friend Davyn proposed to his long time girlfriend, Amy, with disastrous results. Aiden, the youngest of the group, pre-testosterone and pre-surgery, tried to raise money for his upcoming top surgery, but was thwarted at the last minute. And Max, the eldest, has been on hormones the longest, but hasn’t had the financial resources to obtain his top surgery.
Series creator Emmett Lundberg and series producer Sheyam Ghieth – and series star, local luminary Syd Michael Robinson — will be on hand to present a “Festival version” of Season 1 and a special preview of Season 2 AND will talk about trans representation, the agency and possibility of web television, what’s in store for Jack and company, and more!
Very much thanks to Emmet and Sheyam for making their way back to Milwaukee for this, and to you, Syd Robinson, for making this, and so much more, happen.
