Artists Now! Guest Lecture Series: Ecological Aesthetics panel

February 6, 2019 @ 7:30 pm - 9:00 pm

The 2018 book, “Ecological Aesthetics: artful tactics for humans, nature, and politics” by Nathaniel Stern, is poetic and scholarly collection of stories about art, artists, and their materials, arguing that ecology, aesthetics, and ethics are inherently entwined, and together act as the cornerstone for all contemporary arts practices. This panel, hosted by political theorist and professor Kennan Ferguson, will see an interactive and engaging discussion between Ferguson, the author, and three artist / artist groups featured in his book: recent UWM BFA Wyatt Tinder, sculptor and metalsmith Yevgeniya Kaganovich, and the progenitors behind the activist collective, the Overpass Light Brigade.
