Artists Now! Guest Lecture Series: Charles Timm-Ballard
September 13 @ 7:30 pm - 9:00 pm
A native of South-Milwaukee, Charles Timm-Ballard’s work combines ceramic materials with sculpture, drawing, and painting. His recent work addresses collisions between past and present: pre-industrial/industrial/post industrial, and nature-made versus human-made. Timm-Ballard’s work hovers between the improbable and unlikely.
Charles Timm-Ballard is represented by Sherry Leedy Contemporary Art in Kansas City, and has exhibited in many national exhibitions at venues such as the Tampa Museum of Art, Baltimore Clayworks, the Workhouse Arts Center in Lorton, Virginia, and Saratoga Clay Arts Center, in Schuylerville, New York.
The Department of Art & Design proudly presents the 11th season of Artists Now!, a Wednesday evening lecture series designed for a broad audience with an interest in contemporary visual art. It presents a diverse group of artists working across traditional, hybrid and emergent disciplines. Join these nationally and inter- nationally recognized practitioners as they explore and expand the boundaries of creative visual practice today.
All lectures take place on Wednesdays at 7:30 pm in the Arts Center Lecture Hall on the UWM campus. FREE and open to the public!
