Snow Attends Asian Studies Conference

Visiting Assistant Professor Hilary Snow presented at the annual Association for Asian Studies conference in Chicago on March 28, 2015. Her paper, “Nineteenth-Century Depictions of the Genpei War in the Kaga Domain,” discussed a remarkable fifty-foot long votive painting from Kanazawa, Japan. This paper is part of a project exploring early-modern ideas of national and local identity as expressed through paintings commissioned for public display.
