In McCourt’s presentation, “A Lineage of Sociopaths: The Antiheroics of American Psycho and 21st Century Television,” she argues that the yoking of of violence against women and grotesque comedy not only prevents a feminist reading of American Psycho, but also suggests Patrick Bateman as a predecessor to other entertaining sociopaths of 21st century serial television. Molly McCourt was also featured in the UWM College of Letters & Science In-Focus November 2014 newsletter.
