Prof. Derek B. Counts was recently awarded a $100,000.00 grant from UWM’s Research Growth Initiative program. The grant supports Counts’s work on the publication of an interactive and stable open access digital publication of a select corpus of artifacts recovered from the sanctuary of Athienou-Malloura, Cyprus. This innovative publication will be produced in collaboration with Counts’s colleagues in Cyprus and with UWM’s Digital Commons, a virtual repository for the storage and publication of research data. The catalogue will incorporate 3D digital models of the artifact (including downloadable metadata) coupled with a dynamic platform that will allow user-friendly manipulation and study.
