Art Institute of Chicago Tour

On Friday, May 13, Associate Professor Tanya Tiffany and students from her course, ARTHIST 730: Gender and Art in the Spanish Empire, 1550-1750, visited the Art Institute of Chicago.  The students met with Associate Curator Rebecca Long, who gave a fascinating tour of the exhibition, “Doctrine and Devotion: Art of the Religious Orders in the Spanish Andes,” and of galleries containing works by El Greco, Velázquez, and Zurbarán.  It was a wonderful opportunity for students to see masterpieces of art and to get behind-the-scenes insight into the curatorial profession.
