Help discover the next generation of panthers
The Alumni Ambassador Program engages well-trained, knowledgeable, and enthusiastic alumni as active participants in the university’s recruitment efforts. There are opportunities for both local and national alumni to provide volunteer service on behalf of the university.
By participating in events like college fairs and on-campus visit programs, you can share your UWM experience with prospective students and their families. Your enthusiasm for UWM and your personal success story can make a difference for students exploring their college options.
Ambassadors have the opportunity to participate in:
A variety of events take place on campus to recruit prospective students: campus preview tours, adult student informational nights, the UW-System Workshops, and scholarship receptions. Represent alumni, connect with other alumni, and learn what’s new at UWM at events right on campus.
Prospective college students and their families attend these nights to ask questions and talk with many different college representatives. Students and parents will come to the UWM booth and ask you general information about UWM.
In this phone call and letter writing campaign, be one of the first to congratulate incoming freshmen scholarship recipients and encourage them to become a part of the Panther family at UWM. Students can ask questions, preview the Panther experience, and have a chance to make a personal connection with UWM.
High School Visits
Represent UWM at a high school in your area and share your UWM experience with prospective students. UWM visits as many as 400 high schools in a year in Wisconsin, Illinois, and Minnesota. You may also represent UWM at a high school banquet and present an award winner with their UWM scholarship certificate.
