Amanda Heerman Sharp (BA ’89) Wins CA Statewide Award for Employer

Congratulations to Amanda Heerman Sharp on her promotion to director of social services and community action agency for the County of Tehama, California. With a budget of $40 million and more than 200 staff, Sharp’s agency was recently awarded a California State Association of Counties Challenge Award for the innovative welfare to work program she designed, which has produced tremendous results in a rural county with high poverty and unemployment. Also the co-chairperson of the California Welfare Directors Association for state adults and a recognized Emerging Leader by the National Community Action Partnership, Sharp has lived in California for more than 13 years with her husband and two children.
