UWM Union Art Show Features Internationally Renowned Alum

Since his first solo show in Chicago in 1983, his artwork has been featured in major museum collections domestically, as well as in Mexico, Amsterdam, Rome and Berlin. The UWM Union Art Gallery is proud to host a solo exhibition of alumnus Fred Stonehouse ‘82. His gallery, The Language of Memory, opens on September 7th and will remain on display through September 15th. Mr. Stonehouse will take part in an artist talk at 7 pm on September 15th, as part of the closing reception which runs that evening from 5-8pm.

In addition to selling artwork to thousands of collectors and celebrities, he has earned critical acclaim and was awarded an NEA Arts Midwest Grant, and the Joan Mitchell Foundation Individual Artists Grant. He is currently an Associate Professor of Painting and Drawing at the University of Wisconsin.
