Alumnus Gary Cooper-Sperber Named Statewide LGBTQ Leader of Color

Congratulations to Gary Cooper-Sperber on his recognition as one of 43 Wisconsin Statewide LGBTQ Leaders of Color 2017 by Our Lives Magazine. Madison’s LGBT & XYZ magazine, Our Lives recently published its Queer People of Color (QPOC) Pride 2017 list, featuring individuals identified as movers, shakers, and leaders in Madison and across the State of Wisconsin. Cooper-Sperber was featured under the #QPOC 2017 category of “Belonging, Connecting, and Resisting,” and is the only UW-Milwaukee academic professional featured in this story. Cooper-Sperber currently serves as a Senior Academic Advisor for African American Student Academic Services (AASAS) in the College of Letters and Science.

He received his BS of Educational Studies in 2010 with a certificate in Cultures and Communities, and a MS of Administrative Leadership in Education in 2012.
