Robert Zagar’s (BA ’73) Research Results in Presidential Pardons

Research conducted by Robert Zagar to predict and prevent violence resulted in the Presidential commutation & pardons by President Obama of 6,400 nonviolent offenders, as well as orders to re-sentence juveniles with life sentence without parole in the US Supreme Court cases Miller v Alabama & Graham v Florida. In all, it saved 324 lives & $2B in Chicago by giving high risk teens jobs, mentors and anger management counseling.
