Good morning, colleagues and happy New Year!

New Director of Undergraduate Admissions

Dr. Dani Rollins has accepted the position and will start her new tenure at UWM on February 13, 2017. Dani comes to UWM from Northern Illinois University where she has most recently served as Assistant Vice President for Enrollment Management and Director of Admissions. She brings with her more than 15 years of experience working in the Admissions area at institutions like Northern Illinois University, Reed College, University of Arizona, and the University of Saint Francis. I thank the Search and Screen Committee, chaired by Registrar Seth Zlotocha, for their hard work and diligence in identifying a strong pool of applicants.

New Director of Academic Advising

Bill Hebert, Jr. has accepted the position, which is funded through a grant we received from UW System, and will join UWM on January 17, 2017. Bill comes to UWM from UW-Marathon County where he was the Assistant Campus Dean for Student Affairs and Enrollment Management. He has more than 20 years of progressive leadership in higher education. I thank the Search and Screen Committee, chaired by Associate Professor Margaret Noodin, for their hard work and diligence in identifying a strong pool of applicants.

Dean searches

The dean searches for College of Nursing, L&S, and the Zilber School of Public Health are all on track. I hope to announce soon the dean finalists for the Zilber School of Public Health. The plan is to invite the finalists for campus visits during the first and second week of February.

Provost Executive Staff Assistant

Jaclyn Stoczanyn accepted the position beginning January 3, 2017. Jaclyn has been with UWM since 2005, providing executive support to the deans in the School of Education and the Zilber School of Public Health. She has served as my Executive Assistant on an interim basis since last March. Welcome aboard, Jaclyn!

Post Tenure Review

The Post-tenure Review Policy, which was approved by the Board of Regents last fall, will move toward implementation this spring semester, with ongoing discussion among the deans and with the University Committee. I will share more details with the campus as we move forward with the implementation plan.
