January 11, 2016  |  News & Events, Provost's Updates

Colleagues,

Below is an addendum to today’s Monday Update.

Kudos

– A note regarding the Kudos in this morning’s Update, for Professor Victor Greene. The honor was bestowed posthumously – Professor Greene passed away in 2014.

– Good news from the College of Letters and Science:  The Actuarial Science Program in the Department of Mathematical Sciences has been designated a “Center of Actuarial Excellence” by the Society of Actuaries.  We are now one of only 18 programs designated as such in the United States. Congratulations to the Department!

– UWM Sociology and Urban Studies Professor Jennifer Jordan’s book, “Edible Memory: The Lure of Heirloom Tomatoes & Other Forgotten Foods”, made the Los Angeles Public Library’s list of top non-fiction books of 2015. Well done!
