March 9, 2015  |  News & Events, Provost's Updates

Good morning Colleagues. It is Monday morning and here is this week’s update – and I hope you all have a good Spring break next week. Yesterday was also International Women’s Day:

Budget update – in the Wisconsin Room

– Just a reminder that there will be another Campus Budget Meeting and discussion tomorrow from 11 a.m. – noon in the Student Union Wisconsin Room. The meeting will again be live streamed at https://uwm.edu/streamingvideo/universityrelations/.

For information on the budget and related issues see also: https://uwm.edu/ucnews/ and https://uwm.edu/budget.

Kudos

– A team of students from the School of Architecture and Urban Planning (Efrain Cano, Ryan Guetschow, Joe Stefanich, and team leader Jacob Jordan) plus Scott Gibbel, from UW-Madison, are finalists in the 13th annual Urban Land Institute Hines Competition. I am told that this is an ideas competition that challenges graduate students to create proposals for the development or redevelopment of a designated site in a U.S. metropolitan area. Harvey Rabinowitz and Carolyn Esswein served as faculty advisers for the team. UWM is one of four finalists, along with the University of Maryland, and two teams from Harvard. Well done team UWM!

From the Ombuds Council

– Nadya Fouad would like to remind the campus that the Ombuds Council is designed to help UWM faculty and staff with informal conflict resolution. You can learn more about the Ombuds Council at https://uwm.edu/ombuds/. You can submit a request for contact at the website, or call 229-4902.
