DASH Grant:   $1000   Click here – DASH Grant

This grant is available to students facing emergency situations impacting their studies.

  • Grants available up to $1,000
  • Grants may be used to pay for the emergency, NOT for tuition, fees, books, etc.
  • Examples of emergencies would include, but is not limited to: car breaks down and student can’t get to school, appendectomy has resulted in large medical bills, student loses her job and can’t afford to buy groceries to eat, etc.
  • The emergency and its resulting expenses must be documented and proven.
  • Student must have filed the FAFSA and demonstrate some financial need.
  • The student will be paid via a two-party check payable to him/herself AND to the vendor applicable to the situation. E.g. the student with a medical bill might have the check payable to himself and to Aurora Healthcare. Thus, the check can only be used to pay that bill. Alternatively, in certain situations, the student may be paid via a gift card. E.g. a student needing money to buy food may get a Pick N Save gift card.
  • A web site is being created where students can apply.  Students can apply in person in the Dean of Students office. The Dean of Students and the financial aid offices will administrate the program.
